Course of treatment
1st visit
During the first visit an accurate interview with the patient taking into account reasons for reporting to the orthodontist, expectations of the patient and a responsiveness are being conducted. Next the orthodontist is assessing occlusion conditions and features of the patient and he states whether a need of the treatment exists as well as what risk of worsening the defect is, if the treatment isn't taken. If the patient is expressing desire for the orthodontic treatment initially impressions are being done and the photography of the face and the occlusion and the patient is being pointed to an additional X-rays.
The 2nd visit
Presenting the individual plan of the treatment is a purpose of the second visit, of treatment taking into account the most optimum date of beginning, the course and the predicted duration. If the patient makes up his mind after all for undertaking the procedure, he must remember also about healing all teeth, removing the stone and varnishing them (by permanent
apparatus the space between varnishing and sticking locks should amount to min 6 weeks). There should not be also any indications of an inflammatory condition of gums.
The 3rd visit
On this visit giving back to the patient taken apparatus or founding permanent apparatus are taking place. Next all readings and necessary advice are being presented to the patient.
The 4th visit and next
Test visits are held with the different frequency depending on the applied procedure, most often in a scheme:
- removable apparatuses every 6-8 weeks
- permanent apparatuses as 4-5 weeks
